Though some are easier to find than others, there are many businesses in the Johnson City/Elizabethton area that either offer discounts and deals on certain days of the week or at certain times, or are overall discount stores.
Restaurants/Food
- Buffalo Wild Wings at 2035 Hamilton Pl. in Johnson City has two discount offers, one on Tuesday and the other on Thursday. Buy one get one 50% off of traditional wings on Tuesdays when you order pick up or delivery, and buy one get one free boneless wings on Thursdays.
- Ole’s Guacamoles at 1805 N. Roan St. in Johnson City has one $1 tacos on Tuesdays for Taco Tuesday.
- The Applebee’s at 1010 Over Mountain Dr. in Elizabethton, or at 2100 N Roan St. in Johnson City have late night half price appetizers after 9 p.m.
- The Burger King at 1910 S Roan St. in Johnson City has three deals in effect right now, free any size fries with mobile orders, two for $6 mix-and-match, and two for $5 breakfast mix-and-match.
- The Taco Bell at 993 W Elk Ave. in Elizabethton, has their “Happier Hour Drinks” which is $1 medium fountain drinks or freezes every day between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
- The Chili’s at 3040 Franklin Terrace in Johnson City offers a “3for Me” deal, which includes a starter, an entree and a drink for $11, but you can also add a dessert for an additional $4.
- The Cook Outs at 3040 Franklin Terrace. in Johnson City, and 509 W Elk Ave. in Elizabethton has its tray deal with two sides, an entree and a drink for $6.99.You can substitute your drink for a Cheerwine or Coke float, or for a shake for an additional $1.60.
Discount Grocery
For college students who need to save some money on food or other groceries/supplies, there are many discount stores in the Johnson City area.
- The United Grocery Outlet at 1103 N Roan St. in Johnson City has the best prices for discount groceries in the area.
- The Ollie’s at 3006 Bristol Hwy. in Johnson City has a larger selection of food and non-food items than Grocery Outlet, but it is still a good option for discount groceries.
- The Price Less Foods at 1950 S Roan St. in Johnson City is pretty comparable to United Grocery Outlet.
Movies
- AMC movie theater on N. Roan St. in Johnson City offers multiple deals, 25% off tickets if bought before 4 p.m. every day, $5 small Icee and small popcorn with a valid Student ID, and discount Tuesdays for AMC Stubs members with $6 tickets on select insider movies and a $6 small popcorn and small drink.
