Spring Semester 2024, Week 14, 04/08 – 04/14

A solar eclipse is happening on Monday from 1-3:30 p.m., it reaches it#s peak at 3:10 p.m. and should cover the sun about 85%. In the sub you can get get some solar eclipse themed snacks from 1-3 p.m.

Chicken and Pickleball is happening on Monday as well from 6-7 p.m.

The Edible Food Festival is hosted in the Welshimer Library on Monday and Tuesday. The voting is happening until Monday 9 p.m. and the winner will be determined on Tuesday.

Milligan Baseball will be competing against WVU Tech at 12 p.m on Tuesday.

In Hyder Auditorium will be hosted the Spring Colloquium at 6 p.m. about “Bigfoot Lives”.

From 6-7 p.m. in the Walker Auditorium in Seeger Chapel you can join the Appalachian Poet Jane Hicks. In celebration of the National Poetry Month she is giving a reading and signing of her forthcoming collection “The Safetyof Small Things”. This is a free event and dessert and coffee will be provided.

Also on Tuesday, a Food Drive will be hosted in the SUB from 8-9 p.m. Students who bring 3 or more food items will get 1 SFP credit, and if they do the info station, they will receive a second SFP credit.

Milligan Softball will be competing in a double header against Union on Wednesday. The first game is at 3 p.m, and the second at 5 p.m. 

On Wednesday at 8 p.m. Night Chapel will be hosted were you can receive 2 SFP.

On Thursday from 11 a.m to 12 p.m Dr. Ron Kastens is hosting a Faculty lecture in Seeger Chapel. 

Apostolos hosts a Bonfire and Prayer event on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Village Lawn. You can enjoy smores there and it is recommended to bring your own blanket to seat on.

On Friday Milligan Softball has a double header against Bryan, the first game at 3 p.m and the second at 5 p.m.

On Friday at 7:30 p.m. “That Big Party” is happening. Tickets will be for sale from Tuesday to Friday during lunch period. THe tickets cost 10$ per person.

Milligan Baseball will also be playing on Friday against CIU at 6 p.m. 

On Saturday from 7:30-9 p.m in Seeger Chapel the Once Upon a Time: Music and Storytelling will be held by the Milligan Orchestra.

Milligan Baseball will be playing against CIU in a double header at 1 p.m and 4 p.m on Saturday. 

Milligan Cycling will race at the Confernce Championships at Sunny Kings in Alabama Saturday and Sunday.
