Milligan’s baseball team dropped a three-game series against Point University this weekend. The Buffs split the doubleheader on Friday but lost to Point in the final game on Saturday. 

Milligan started off leading the first game 2-0 on Friday. Junior Brandon Marello led the game with a single to right field, while Senior  Justin Greene and Sophomore Branden Spano crossed home plate shortly after. The second half of the game was not as successful for Milligan, as Point got a total of seven runs, coming away with a final score of 8-4.

In the second game on Friday, Milligan was able to get on the scoreboard first. Freshman Josh Lail scored one run followed by Marello who hit a home run, sending Lail, Salcedo, and senior Logan Estep to home plate. Point was able to get a single run in the bottom half making the final score of the game 4-0. 

The Buffs lost to Point in the final game on Saturday. Lail led the top of the second off with a double to right-center and was eventually able to cross the plate after junior Logan Hullette batted an RBI groundout. Point picked up two runs in the bottom of the second inning, coming away with a 2-1 lead. Point then scored three more runs in the bottom of the third. Milligan senior EricRigsby was able to move to third base with a sacrifice bunt by Spano. The Buffs got two more runs in the top of the eighth but ultimately fell to Point as they took the lead with two more runs, ending the game 6-4.
