Milligan’s 2019 homecoming week has arrived and is packed full of events for students, faculty and graduates. The festivities started on Monday, Oct. 21. 

The Apple Fest 

Found on Hart Porch, The Apple Fest was free and open to all Milligan Students on Monday at 7:30 p.m. The Student Government Association (SGA)  provided apple snacks and cider.

Pumpkin Carving & S’mores

Also sponsored by the SGA, pumpkin carving and s’mores will take place on Wednesday, Oct.  23 at 6 p.m. The event will be held on Pardee Lawn near Welshimer Library. 

DodgeBall

The Dodgeball tournament will take place on Friday, Oct. 18 at 10 p.m. in the Steve Lacy FieldHouse. The event is organized by SGA and signups were available in Sutton Lobby.

Soccer Tailgate

Show your school spirit and attend the soccer tailgate between the men’s and women’s games on Saturday! The tailgate will be located near the Mathes Tennis Center and games will be set up at 4:30. Snacks, free hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided at halftime in the women’s game. 

Soccer Games

Saturday Night is the Men’s Soccer senior night following the tailgate. The men play at 7 p.m. and the women play at 5 p.m. Both teams will be playing Bryan College.

Kickball Game

Under the new lights on the softball field, SGA will host a powderpuff kickball game on Saturday the 26th at 10 p.m.

Alumni vs. Students Football

The powderpuff football game will take place on Oct. 26 at 9:30 a.m. on the practice soccer field. Student sign-ups are held through intramurals, and Alumni can register for the event through the Alumni Relations Office. 

The Musical

Milligan’s theatre department presents “Songs for a New World” Oct. 24-27. Discounted student tickets can be bought at the box office for the Thursday and Sunday shows. Student tickets are $5.25 and all other tickets are $10 (plus fees if purchased online).

The Parade

The annual homecoming parade will take place on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. down Blowers Boulevard. Sports teams, clubs and organizations will be represented. Join the fun and come cheer!

Buffalo 5k Run

The annual 5k run/2.5k walk will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 8 a.m. leaving from the fieldhouse. The event is sponsored by the Associated Ladies for Milligan (ALM), and all proceeds benefit scholarships at Milligan.
