An audience full of laughter and excitement filled SUB 7 Friday night when Milligan College enjoyed its annual Faculty Feud. Sponsored by Milligan’s Alpha Chi, the spin-off on the television game show “Family Feud” included a team of faculty versus a team of students competing to answer questions about topics relevant on campus.

The faculty team stands looking disappointed about the score.

Alpha Chi members came up with the questions and collected the results from surveying 100 students. The top eight answers for every question were displayed on the board.

Milligan President Bill Greer played the role of emcee, Steve Harvey. The student team was composed of Will Blackmarr, Michaela Williams, Jon Toler, Micky Dove and Matthew Albritton. The faculty team was made up of Professor Heather Vaccaro, Dr. Michael Blouin, Dr. Karen Kelly, Dr. Brian Eisenback and, crowd favorite, Dr. Tim Dillon.

“I am most excited to just watch Dr. Dillon,” said sophomore Natalie Maurer as soon as she sat down.

She wasn’t the only one.

“Dr. Dillon was the reason I came tonight and was for sure the most interesting person on the stage,” said sophomore Hunter Buchanan.

SUB 7 was packed by the time the event started. Greer kept challenging the teams with questions like, “Where would you most likely find a couple on campus?” and, “What do you think professors do in their spare time?” along with keeping the audience laughing with his own set of jokes.

The students jumped out with the lead and never looked back, beating the faculty 466-0.

Although the score was so lopsided, the faculty team remained positive.

“For us, it wasn’t about being competitive; we just were having a good time,” Dillon said.  “At least, that was my main objective.”

“It’s always interesting to see how both teams respond to the questions,” Greer said, “because the faculty is always trying to answer based on surveys students filled out, and it’s funny to see the generational gap once the points are gathered up.”
