If you’re like me and have paid attention to the news and to any social media, you should be disgusted; disgusted with America; angry with how people have reacted and how people are reacting to reactions.

First off, I will PROUDLY say that I love this school. While Milligan may have things I don’t agree with, this community is loving, supportive and open-minded about the results of this election (from what I have seen). The source of my anger does not come from this school and these people.

Rather, the source of my anger comes from many Christians who say that by electing Trump, America is saved from it’s Godless ways.

My friends, Trump will not save this country. Clinton will not save this country. The Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, Constitutional and Green parties will not save this country. Not a single person on this earth has the power to save a country. No law damns a country to Hell, just as no law sends it to heaven. Countries and political parties do not go to heaven — souls do.

Instead of generalizing an entire group of people (something everyone should refrain from), why not focus on individuals? One by one, we share the gospel. One by one, lives are turned to Christ. No president can do that with presidential power. No senator can do that with legislation. It’s not the government’s job to save people or to even introduce people to Christ. It’s Christians’ job.

Wasn’t it under the oppressive, polytheistic Roman government that Christianity grew? That wasn’t because Cesar said Christianity was great and enforced laws that everyone had to be Christian – or else. Actually, what happened was way more effective than forcing people into converting to Christianity. Individuals had their lives transformed by Jesus through other individuals. They couldn’t hold it back – they had to share. And pure, authentic Christianity was the result.

It’s not our government’s job to promote Christ. It’s ours.
