Milligan unveiled a redesigned campus website Monday, March 17, featuring a fresh new look and enhanced functionality aimed at engaging prospective students while serving current students, faculty and staff.
The new site, which replaced Milligan Today, has a range of updated features including student quick links, faculty and staff quick links, a new calendar tool, website orientation information and an updated faculty and staff photo directory. Enhanced Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has also been implemented to improve the site’s visibility for prospective students and their families.
“The primary objective for the new site was to engage prospective students, but we also wanted to make sure the new site would have maximum functionality for our campus community as well,” said Director of Public Relations and Marketing David Ongie. “We were acutely aware that current students, faculty and staff members rely on our site in the course of their day-to-day activities.”
Milligan’s marketing department collaborated with an outside company, working closely with the admissions office and every academic area on campus to ensure the accuracy and currency of the information provided.
The project, which began last spring and took about a year to complete, reflects Milligan’s response to the increased reliance on online resources for college research—a trend accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The redesigned homepage directs users to key areas of interest, including degree programs, campus life, financial aid options and contact information for tours and additional inquiries. Testimonials and videos of current students and alumni are also featured throughout the site.
The launch, timed over spring break, allowed the team to test site functionality and optimize performance before the campus community returned. While some features are still being fine-tuned, Ongie expressed confidence that the new website will improve the overall Milligan experience for everyone.
“The Milligan Difference is ultimately our people, who come together to form a close-knit community that you won’t find anywhere else,” Ongie said. “We believe this new site showcases that.”
