Milligan’s Faculty Talent Show had the audience laughing, singing and cheering as six faculty members, armed with harmonicas, comedy and even synchronized swimming, took the stage in lower Seeger.

The Faculty Talent Show, organized by SGA, was held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. after being rescheduled due to inclement weather.

“It’s been a top priority of ours, especially in the Events Committee, and everyone in our committee has been working tirelessly to make this event a success,” said sophomore SGA member Nia Ailshie.

Dr. Brian Eisenback opened the night with a rendition on his harmonica, and a human train of audience members. Dr. Jeffrey Miller followed him with a sing-along, mash-up performance of “Imagine” by John Lennon and Milligan’s Alma Mater. After Miller, Dr. John and Mary Jackson presented “Baking with the Jacksons,” a spoof of a live cooking show. With the comedic help of Dr. Jackson, Mary Jackson walked the audience through making gourmet Rice Crispy treats, which they gave out afterwards. Dr. Lori Mills followed the Jacksons with a combination of storytelling and comedy, presenting some of her highlights as a Milligan student and faculty member. Along with Dr. Matthew McDonald, Dr. Eisenback took to the stage once more, concluding the night with a farcical rendition of synchronized swimming.

“I really liked the talent show! My favorite act was synchronized swimming for sure, but I also really like the warm-up with the harmonica,” said freshman Romy Bos.

Drs. Eisenback and McDonald convinced the audience with their performance the most, winning the prize for crowd favorite. The jury’s award went to Dr. Mills.

“The students love seeing faculty and staff in an electrifying environment. Everyone seems to have a lot of fun (and) the chicken nuggets are always a hit,” said Ailshie.
