Despite not scoring against Milligan, Montreat maintained a steady defense.

“We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game,” said junior Greg Anderson. Anderson is a forward on the team, requiring him to carry out much of the Buff’s offensive plays.

While Milligan took several shots at Montreat, their goalkeeper, freshman Marius Braedstrup-Holm, held his own,

The second half of the game proved more successful, as Milligan began to wear out Montreat’s once immovable defense.

Juniors Edward Burgos, Greg Anderson, and senior Luke Bennett all scored in the second half of the game. Together, the three stand-out players helped secure the victory for the Buffs.

“The pressure we added in the first half helped us score in the second,” Anderson said. “All we can do now is elevate from it and continue to grow.”

The men’s soccer team will be on the road for their next game against Truett McConnell, which takes place on Wednesday, October 5. To stay updated on all Milligan athletics, please visit https://milliganbuffs.com/landing/index
