During the summer leading up to the 2020-2021 school year, Brealle Davis was hired as the new residential director for Hart Hall. She served this role while starting her graduate program at Emmanuel Christian Seminary. This past summer she added another role as she became the new director of campus activities and housing.

Before coming to Milligan, Brealle was a student at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in North Carolina. Davis was introduced to the area when her husband, Zac Davis, was searching for a job.

“We initially looked at the Johnson City area because of a job opportunity Zac had. While he was in the process for that job, I applied for a full scholarship at Emmanuel Christian Seminary,” Davis said. “I ended up receiving the scholarship and before moving to Johnson City to start school at Emmanuel, Zac saw the Hart resident director opening at Milligan and showed it to me.”

Davis greatly appreciates her husband’s role in their journey to Milligan.

Brealle Davis and her husband Zac fill many roles at Milligan in serving college students.

“If you get nothing else from the rundown of us coming to Milligan, just understand that Zac is amazing and was selfless enough to push me to pursue opportunities at Emmanuel/Milligan even when it was a weird season for him at the time.”

When the position for campus activities director opened up, Davis saw it as a chance to do a job she had always wanted to do.

“When I got the opportunity to accept this new job, I was overjoyed, but didn’t want to say yes if it wasn’t a job I could do wholeheartedly at the time,” Davis said. “I simply prayed and asked God if this was a role I could take on and still give 100% to. After that, I felt an ever growing peace about taking on the Campus Activities role and have been thankful for it every day since.”

Being both the RD of Hart and the director of Campus Activities and Housing can be overwhelming, but fortunately the roles overlap.

“I get the chance to interact with the whole RA staff more than I would strictly in my RD role, but already being an RD helps with these interactions and connections with students.” Davis said. “This includes my own RA staff – because of the dual role, I get to interact with my RAs a lot more on a daily basis.”

Each role that Brealle Davis holds is heavily connected to events. Davis’ favorite event thus far has been the Homecoming parade.

“Having the opportunity to get student groups together and form a parade is just one of those things I never would have thought I’d get to do!”

While Davis thought homecoming was a hit, the best may be yet to come.

“I’m looking forward to a lot of events this year, but two in particular include the Advent Market in December when local craft vendors come to campus and staff/students have the opportunity to shop from them, and Wonderful Wednesday.”

While Davis interacts with many students on campus, they may not realize her strong passion for the roles she holds.

“I’d want students to know that I don’t just have these roles because they were job opportunities, but because working with this age group is truly where I believe God has called me to serve.”
