Former Milligan professor Nick Blosser unveiled an exhibit of his artwork in Milligan’s art gallery. Visitors could both view and purchase Blosser’s works during homecoming weekend.

Blosser’s exhibit “The Outside” displayed his work from the past six years. His pieces focus on uncovering aspects of nature that are typically overlooked.

“It’s not really a new decision to focus on the subjects from nature that people sometimes ignore,” said Blosser. “That has sort of been my working philosophy for the last 25 years or more.”

Blosser said he couldn’t choose a favorite piece of his on display.

“Sometimes the ones that are most recent are the ones you’re most curious to see up on the walls,” he said.

When Blosser’s audience comes to view his exhibit, he wants them to take the chance to slow down.

“I try and make the paintings as much about the way it’s painted as I do what the obvious subject is,” Blosser said. “Just slow down and look at the shapes, colors, and brushwork for their intrinsic beauty.”

The exhibit is on display in the art gallery located on the ground floor of Derthick and will be available until the end of the semester.
