It was the Buffs against the Bulldogs in the Steve Lacey Fieldhouse as Milligan’s Women’s Volleyballtook home a win against Tennessee Wesleyan Tuesday evening.

Wesleyan arrived at Milligan with a 2-11 record, ready to face the Buffs who at game time stood at 4-8.

The lady Buffs started off strong with sophomore Taylor Pavich, seniors Abigail Byington, Carley Gregory, Cameron McConnell, and juniors Paxton Adkins, and Ashlyn Vandergriff setting the tone on court in the first set.

Milligan scored the first point of the evening, and freshman Ella Maiden proved herself to be a star player early in the set, a trend she continued throughout the night.

After an impressive block from Maiden, the Buffs walked away with the first set win, with scores coming in at 25-21.

Nearing the wire, the Bulldogs began to take the lead in the final sets. The setback was brief, as Maiden once again proved herself to be one to watch, alongside the rest of her teammates. Adrenaline was high, and the scores were neck and neck, but Milligan took the victory at 25-23 in the third set,  moving their record to 5-9.

The Lady Buffs will return to the Steve Lacey Fieldhouse for  The East Tennessee Collegiate, times to be announced.
