It was the Buffs vs. the Bulldogs this past weekend as the Milligan Baseball team took on Tennessee Wesleyan University, the number one seat in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

The team suffered an early defeat in the three-game conference set, with a 1-9 loss in the series opener on April 2. With pitching efforts from Junior Jacob Crumbly and an RBI from Senior Kirby Smith, Milligan was able to get on the board in the seventh inning.

Despite this setback, Milligan came back strong in the final game of the Saturday double header on April 3. After losing game 7-15 in game one, sophomore and pitcher Brandon Marello led the way to a 2-1 victory of TWU in game two of the conference set.

After pitching seven impressive innings, Marello scored the winning run in an extra inning and gave the Buffs a victory over the Bulldogs.

Next weekend, Milligan will be heading to Columbia, South Carolina to take on Columbia International University for a three-game AAC set.
