It was a hard-fought Wednesday for Milligan’s softball team as they took home a win and a loss in a double-header against Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee.

Our girls started off strong in game one, walking away with a 5-1 win against the Bryan College Lions. It was an especially good game for the seniors on the team, with Neelee Griffith, Savannah Nocera, Karsten Miller, and Megan Overholser all bringing in runs to add to the Milligan scoreboard.

Sophomore Kate Cronin

Sophomore Kate Pendleton also made a run into home, which helped carry the Buffs to a game one victory over Bryan.

After an early victory, Milligan saw a close defeat in game two, and ultimately walked away with a 5-6 loss at the end of the double header.

Despite the loss, Sophomore Katie Cronin was a standout player in the game, bringing in two runs to give Milligan the lead.

Senior Neelee Griffith, junior April Alvarado, and sophomore Halie King all made runs into home, but it was not enough to pull ahead over Bryan.

Up next, the softball team travels to Columbia, South Carolina to take on the Columbia International University Rams in an evening double-header this Wednesday the 31st.
