The winning streak came to an end on the 20th as the Milligan Softball team suffered a 6-2 loss against the Point University Skyhawks this past Saturday.

For the past several weeks, all eyes have been on our lady buffs as they racked up win after win, bringing them to a 13-game winning streak that placed them on top of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

This past Saturday, however, we got to see an impressive adjustment from our team as they immediately answered their 6-2 loss with a 1-0 win against the Skyhawks in the second game of the double-header.

Although given an early lead by a double hit by sophomore Kate Pendleton, Milligan gave away four runs in the sixth inning, resulting in a loss for the first game.

Despite this setback, our girls bounced back quickly with the help of Junior and Pitcher Cloee-Anna Merrit. Merrit hit an RBI in the seventh inning, with Senior Savannah Nocera securing the win by running into home.

The softball team travels to Dayton, Tennessee to take on Bryan College this Thursday, March 25. To support our girls as they look to start a new winning streak, be sure to check out Milligan Athletics for updates.
