Milligan University’s women’s soccer team suffered a tough home loss against Reinhardt University on Wednesday after coming out of a two week quarantine.

The Lady Buffs hadn’t played a game since Oct. 27.

Senior Poppy Smith explained, “It was a big adjustment after a long two weeks but the team was very excited to get back playing.”

“We were fortunate enough to have five practices prior to playing Reinhardt after returning from quarantine,” Smith said. “We understand that halts in our schedule are inevitable during times like this but we’re merely grateful for the opportunity to play soccer.”

Since the season has started two of the team’s games have been postponed to be played in the spring along with the conference tournament.

Smith gives her outlook about soccer in the spring, “It’s going to be interesting, we don’t know what the spring season will look like but we’re up for the challenge.”

Up next, Milligan plays  away on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Tennessee Wesleyan.

“We are looking forward to Saturday’s match against Tennessee Wesleyan, each season they provide a good battle and we hope to come out with the win,” explained Smith. “We aim to keep the morale up and finish the season strong.”
