Nine new classes will begin at Milligan in the Spring 2020 semester. The courses are from various majors and minors and take place at the 200 level or higher. Subjects range from human physiology to English.

Professors teaching new, higher level classes are looking forward to the freedom that these courses bring to the table. The classes also typically have a smaller class size.

Dr. Ashley Stiltner, assistant professor of anatomy, will be teaching BIOL 372. This course is part of the new anatomy minor.

“For an upper level course like this, I love the freedom that comes with it.  This allows me to tailor the class to best suit the needs of the students enrolled.” said Stiltner. “These courses are generally smaller groups which opens up the option of discussion and more creative learning opportunities.”

Dr. Michael Blouin, associate professor of English and humanities, will be teaching Fear and Violence, a 400 level English Class. The class will follow a theme through the ages, rather than focus on a set period in time.

“We will have the freedom to ask big questions and to see how major works of literature wrestle with issues that we continue to face today.” said Blouin. “I’m really excited to teach it!”
