With That Big Party having a humanities art slides theme this year, many people dressed up as one of their favorite paintings. Here are just a few of the highlights.

“My dress features Van Gogh’s ‘Cafe Terrace at Night.’ I have always loved impressionist and post-impressionist paintings, but I admire ‘Cafe Terrace at Night’ in particular for its intricate and imaginative details. There are so many ways to imagine the story it tells.”
Senior Abigail Hook

“A Bar at the Folies-Bergère” is the name of the Manet painting. “My sister found this dress at an estate sale for $3 and I was like, when will I ever be able to wear a dress like this? Then, it came to me to try to match it to an art slide. Manet’s work was some of my favorite to study.”
Sophomore Izzy Siegel

“I was ‘The Swing’ by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. This was my favorite art slide from humanities, and I thought it would be pretty easy to recreate.”
Sophomore Anna Hathcock
“‘I chose this piece of art because I really like the strong display of independence and power in women. Also I liked carrying around a massive flag. I’m grateful for my friend Calvin who was crazy enough to join me in this dream. I was hoping for more people to populate the “picture” but I think we still captured the spirit (and in a Milligan-approved way)”
