Home Sports Women’s soccer sweeps Emory and Henry in season opener Sports Women’s soccer sweeps Emory and Henry in season opener September 13, 2017 by Cara Clark Milligan’s women’s soccer team did not disappoint in their home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 6, as they rolled past Emory and Henry 6-0. Milligan’s women’s soccer team kicks off the season with a strong attack. Freshman goalkeeper Eva Bower scoops up the ball. Milligan makes their attack. Sophomore Alyson McMillan crosses the ball in to sophomore Bekah Cundiff to put Milligan up 1-0. Sophomore Dharma Fawbush squares up to the goal making the score 2-0. Bekah Cundiff goes one on one with the keeper and earns Milligan another goal. Emory and Henry goalkeeper Kayla Wright dives for Cundiff’s shot. Milligan sets up defensively as Emory and Henry prepares to take a corner kick. Junior Megan Williams goes in for the shot but can’t connect with the back of the net. Senior Brittany Davis shields an Emory and Henry player from the ball. Freshman Megan Kent crosses the ball in to set up a play. Alyson McMillan kicks the ball into play with a corner kick. Freshman Ellie Cachiaras makes the attack. Milligan sets up their defense as the referee signals for an indirect kick in the last few minutes of the game.
