Finals Week comes with a lot of stress. Your exams, presentations, papers and:

  1. Baking: Having a sweet treat can help you study and could help with writer’s block. Not only does baking help distract you from your stress, but you are also making something delicious to eat later! Or, if you can’t find an oven, you can go and buy some cookies and some icing and make cookie sandwiches.
  2. Boxing–or any type of exercise: When I feel stressed out, it helps to go and just be by myself and box for an hour. It makes a lot of my stress go away. And according to Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde,” “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy.” And happiness is a rare feeling in the weeks before and during finals.
  3. Books (any books that are not related to the subject you are studying): I know, I know. Reading more books when you are up to your neck in textbooks is probably not the most appealing idea, but I find it relaxing to read something that is not required. Whether it is just a magazine or a classic, read anything that does not have something to do with Humanities.
  4. Basking in the sun: Being able to sit in the sun is so relaxing. Reading for Humanities is not. But reading outside just makes it easier to read about the French Revolutions. And you can work on your tan for summer.
  5. Binge-watching brainless Netflix shows: This is a last resort for when you are completely stressed out from finals week. However, being able to just watch some brainless Netflix shows can help; just don’t let this keep you from studying. Grades are more important than the next episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
