A career night from Jacob Cawood guided the Milligan Men’s Basketball team to a 98-93 victory.

Cawood finished the game with 26 points and knocked down four 3-pointers, while grabbing seven rebounds. Offense was not the only thing Cawood did well; on defense, Cawood came up with a couple of huge drawn charges and a big block. Daxton Bostian came up with 21 key points while grabbing six rebounds.

Bostian provided some key energy on defense in the first half, which allowed the Buffs to take an early 10 point lead midway through the first half. The Buffs out hustled the Cavaliers throughout the game, coming up with some key stops toward the end of the game.

As a team, the Buffs shot 32 of 61 (52.5 percent) from the court, while Montreat shot only 33 of 71 (46.5 percent) from the court.

Montreat came into the game as the second best team in the AAC and left the game falling into the third spot. With this win, Milligan broke away from a tie for sixth in the AAC and became sixth in the AAC. Milligan improved to 7-7 in the conference and 11-11 overall. Montreat fell to 9-5 in the conference and 16-5 overall.
