Milligan’s Faculty Office Building parking lot flooded with hundreds of local youth and their families on Thursday night to enjoy the annual “Trunk or Treat.” 21 student groups chose a theme, decorated their car trunks and dressed up in costumes to serve tasty treats to the community participants.

The annual event was sponsored by LINC (Linking Individuals to the Needs of the Community), a student-run organization that coordinates students with the local community to provide service opportunities.

Michaela Dove, student head of the LINC team, said “We do this event because we want to give the children of the community a fun night and show them that we care.”

Of the twenty one student groups who hosted a themed trunk, three were chosen as winners by faculty judges Heather Jackson, Lee Blackburn, Michael Blouin and Joy Drinnon. The rankings were based on creativity, friendliness and overall presence.

“We had all kinds of exciting themes like Star Wars, Wizard of Oz, Finding Dory and Disney Villains,” said Dove.

The “Old Ladies” theme came in third place, “Science Is Out of This World” came in second, and the “Wild, Wild West” took first place.

“Everyone worked so hard and we appreciate it,” said Dove.
